Lauren Stringer’s Exhibition at the Anderson Center, Tower View

Lauren Stringer, the wonderful artist who illustrated The Princess and her Panther, is exhibiting at the Anderson Center at Tower View, Minnesota. I love reading articles where I find out more interesting things about my friends! If you happen to be in the area, do go and see the exhibition – if you’ve seen any of her books, you know that her pictures are wonderful, but the original art is something else again. I think it also surprises people to see just how much bigger the originals are than the illustrations in the book. (At least it surprised me, the first time I saw a picture book illustration. I’d always presumed they’d be the same size as they’re shown.)

The clocks look amazing too. Wish I could go!

  1. Lauren Wendy, The exhibition is wonderful! I wish you could have joined me at the opening last Friday evening. A wonderful turn-out of artists and art lovers. I signed several of our Princess and Panther books and I wish you could have signed them as well! The Anderson Center did a wonderful job with the display of the illustrations and the sculptural clocks change the way one thinks about time- beautiful!
