all a bit surreal

The Nim’s Island movie news just keeps on getting better and better. As well as Jodie Foster for Alex and Abigail Breslin for Nim, we’ve now got Gerard Butler for Jack! What an awesome threesome.

And the release date is April 25, next year. Suddenly it all seems real and close – I know that’s eleven months away, but it’s a concrete date, every day brings it a bit closer. So last Thursday I’d chatted to someone about whether I could do some touring when it came out, and about some new books to write that could come out at the same time. I got off the phone and an email came in to say Gerard Butler was in, and then that night got the email with the release date.

I didn’t sleep for two nights…

  1. Giorgia Huzzah from a GAL!!! He'll surely make the movie even better than what it already would've been with just ("just" so to speak...) Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin! :)
Can't wait to see it, huzzah (again - I know, I'm repetitive, sorry...)!!!

  5. Wendy And considering that an author never has anything to do with casting – I just can't believe I'm so lucky to have all the people I've been hoping for!

  6. Cheryl Simpson Hey Wendy,
You are going to be in for a real experience now that Gerry has signed to play Jack on Nim's Island. You'll have to check out his Official, Unoffical website...GerardButler.Net
    http://www.gerardbutler.net/index.php
I'm a fan video moderator for the site. Gerry's fans are very loyal and work very hard to promote his movies...just as Zach Snyder of "300" and Sturla Gunnarsson of "Beowulf & Grendel."
We are definitely looking forward to this one where he plays a father. I have met him several times and he is truly a wonderful man. Hope to see you on GB.Net.
    Take care,
    Kaione
